Tent camping during Convention is FREE at the Central States Fairgrounds and is included in your registration. There are several RV sites at the campground that have 30/50 amp hookups, and are available for a fee on a first-come, first-served basis. You can indicate if you’ll need one of these sites during the registration process. If you want to bring your furry friend with you, there will be a $20 charge for very well-behaved pets at the fairgrounds.
IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE STAYING OFF-SITE DURING CONVENTION, you need to make hotel and/or lodging reservations RIGHT NOW. The Black Hills is a tourist hot spot, and since COVID hit, finding rooms or places to stay is nearly impossible the closer we get to convention time. It is not uncommon to find hotel rooms going for upwards of $300 per night during this time. We’d like you to avoid the hassle of having to find a really expensive place to stay last-minute, so we’ve reserved blocks of rooms for Convention attendees.
300 rooms (50-75 per location) will be held at the following locations for June 12-18th on a first come first basis until April 28th, 2022 at the following rates:
- LaQuinta Inn & Suites 50 room block @ $179.00
- Fairfield by Marriott 75 room block @ $179.00 Book your group rate for NSS 2022 Conference
- AmericInn Lodge & Suites 50 room block @ $169.00
- Country Inn & Suites 50 room block @ $179.00
- Courtyard by Marriott 75 room block @ $179.00
Additionally, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (located across Rapid Creek from the Fairgrounds) will have dorm rooms available at reasonable rates for Convention attendees. You can reserve one of these rooms through the School of Mines.
Dorm rooms available are standard (2 person rooms), Quad (up to 4 people) and Study Quad (2 bedrooms and up to 4 people) for between $40 and $100 per dorm per night. To make reservations, go to https://bit.ly/3oXp4ua
